LINDT chocolate from Advent calendars |is safe and does not pose a health risk

The current issue of the German magazine “Stiftung Warentest” reports on mineral oil residues in the chocolate used in Advent calendars in conjunction with recycled cardboard packaging. The article in question also mentions the “Lindt Advent Calendar” as one of the products tested. As our company does not use any recycled cardboard packaging but only high-quality materials made from virgin fibers, and uses no paints or coatings containing mineral oil in its packaging, we cannot understand the results published by Stiftung Warentest.

As part of our high quality requirements, it goes without saying that we also test the chocolate used in our Advent calendars in both internal and external laboratories. Our assessment showed no deviation from our stringent and high standards related to food safety.

We would also like to refer to the statement by the Association of the German Confectionary Industry “Bundesverband der Deutschen Süsswarenindustrie e.V.” and the relevant German authority “Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung”. The associations came to the conclusion that the consumption of chocolate from Advent calendars is safe and does not pose a health risk.
